So I’m probably the only one on the planet, but I actually try to NOT get a huge tax return.
I have a problem with letting the government use MY money all year. They make interest off of it and/or spend it really unwisely. I don’t like that.
AND…I can use that money in my paycheck. I can spend it wisely (most of the time :S ) and put it in MY piggy bank to earn interests, etc.
This philosophy makes me sound ultra-conservative and more and more like my father. But oh well!
That leaves me at the end of this tax year getting 65$ back from the federal government.
It is a little sad when everyone else is getting big checks deposited into their accounts, but I remind myself that I’ve been able to do fun stuff like pay for Crossfit w/ my extra dollars in my paycheck. 🙂
Beauty says, “All shall be well.”
Beauty is powerful. Beauty may be the most powerful thing on earth. Beauty speaks. Beauty invites. Beauty nourishes. Beauty comforts. Beauty inspires. Beauty is transcendent. Beauty draws us to God.
Simone Weil wrote, ‘The beauty of the world is almost the only way by which we can allow God to penetrate us…Beauty captivates the senses in order to obtain permission to pass straight through to the soul…The souls inclination to love Beauty is the trap God most frequently uses in order to win it.’

One of the most beautiful songs I have ever heard.
As I stood in Walmart tonight I looked at all the coffee selections and kept looking for ones that would specifically say “For brewing in regular coffee maker.”
I had no clue what to get! Are they all the same? Are the ones that can be stirred in your coffee the same as the ones that go through the filter? I know not to get whole beans, but that’s about it. What about the filters? Now that I have the coffee I’m not sure I even know what to do w/ it. I will have to have Sara show me how to make it in our machine.
Some of you will read this and shake your head w/ disappointment, but quite frankly I am glad that I have yet to fall prey to this addiction.
